4.7.1.3 Multiple Point-In-Time Instances
When configuring replication of a virtual machine, you can configure multiple point-in-time (PIT) instances, which are basically a series of timestamped snapshots at the target site that you can leverage post-failover. vSphere Replication supports up to 24 multiple PIT instances per virtual machine. The benefit of this is that the end customer can revert to a known state of their virtual workloads after a disaster recovery scenario.
