Architecting a vRealize Business Solution : Design Considerations

Design Considerations
4.1 Architectural Overview
vRealize Business Standard is deployed as a virtual appliance, encapsulating a VMware virtual machine. Its architecture is comprised of three main components—server, data collector, and reference database. The user interface is provided by the vRealize Automation appliance, and user authentication/authorization is provided by VMware vCenter® Single Sign-On™.
vRealize Business Standard integrates with the following products to provide cost management, analysis, and comparison functions:
vCenter Server
vCloud Director
vRealize Automation
VMware vRealize Operations Manager™
Public clouds:
o VMware vCloud Air™
o Microsoft Azure
o Amazon Web Services
The following figure illustrates the interaction between these components.

Design Considerations
For optimal performance, deploy vRealize Business Standard on the same network as the infrastructure to be metered (vCenter Server or vCloud Director).
