In vCenter Orchestrator 5.1 a REST API is presented in addition to the SOAP API. The REST API enables the execution of workflows and provides additional functionality not available in the SOAP API. The vSphere Web Client, for example, includes integration with vCenter Orchestrator through the REST API.
