Continuity Management for vCloud focuses on making sure that the vCloud-based service offerings and the infrastructure upon which they are hosted, can be resumed within an agreed timeframe in the case of a disruption of service—regardless of whether the outage is at the vApp level or impacts an entire vCloud environment instance. In this context, VMware defines two components to Continuity Management: Disaster Recovery (strategic), and vApp Backup and Restore (tactical).
